Business Excellence Model (EFQM-2010) can be primarily used in four ways:
- To help determine where an organisation is on their journey towards excellence.
- To provide a common language to enable the exchange of ideas and information, both within and outside the organisation.
- To integrate existing & planned activities, improving organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
- To provide a basic structure for the organisation’s management system.
The Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Awards (SKEA) and the Dubai Quality Awards (DQA) and other Excellence Models within the region are based on EFQM model.
We have the experience to look, with our clients, at ‘enablers’ and ‘results-orientated’ facets of the model and to help performance improvement in all areas.
The model and its underlying principles provide an ideal framework for recommendations and actions. It can also act as a base for developing a shared vocabulary for improvement across an organisation.
If properly aligned with the organisation’s strategies, the self-assessment process can provide a meaningful measure of progress towards becoming a ‘best in class’ organisation.
Managers are assisted to understand the process and its use as part of the organisation’s planning process.
Realisation of this can be used as an effective culture change tool where individuals and teams measure the outcomes of their work, understand shortcomings and feel empowered to take actions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their work.
Our approach to working with organisations is always tailored and unique to the organisations needs. Our aim is to support the journeying of real change.
We deploy some standard tools, which is always in support of a thorough understanding of an organisations change journey; its objectives, current position, culture and activities. Through this understanding we deploy or develop standard or tailored approaches to work with the organisation to create the next steps of the organisation’s change journey. These approaches include elements to plan and create change, to measure performance and to review effectiveness.
However these different tools that we use in our work with organisations are not directed at the delivery of tools. Our approach is to work in partnership with organisations using our knowledge of Business Excellence to help provide insight and understanding.
